Title: Sales Development Representative

We need a proactive, and organised Sales Development Rep to help our sales team achieve efficiencies and grow the business.

As a Sales Development Rep you will help the sales development team analyse and target future clients, building prospecting list and engage these prospects through outbound activity.

Your work involves gathering relevant data about existing and potential customers. You will collect this information and break it down in a meaningful way. You will use the information to identify market trends, find areas of need that aren't currently being met, and then engage in outbound activities to drive engagement including emails and phone calls.

Your key task is to identify new customers based on the criteria set by the Sales Director and then to initiate contact through a variety of tools designed to produce opportunities to be passed to regional sales managers.

You will join a small, efficient team led by our Sales Development Manager, working from our Durban office, or remotely but with the ability to be in Durban when needed, it is essential you are energetic, self motivated and persistent.

Experience required:

  • 1+ year in a high performing SDR function
  • High energy with a history of top performance and high level of prospecting
  • Experience building prospecting lists and finding the right people to contact
  • Analytical, resourceful, confident
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Knowledge of automation and sequencing tools beneficial

  • What you will do day to day

  • Building the relevant database of companies and prospects to target
  • Systematically targeting new leads via email and Linked-in using the agreed process
  • Systematically outbound calling the target list following the agreed process to ensure follow up of calls, emails and related communication
  • Securing properly qualified opportunities for the sales team to pursue
  • The Sales Development function is constantly evolving, you will actively participate in defining the processes and helping ensure the teams success
